Sonia Holzheimer

Sonia is a mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience in the building and construction industry in Cairns. After graduating from university, she launched her career with boutique building services firm MGF Consultants (NQ). Here, Sonia was involved in the design of some of Cairns’ most celebrated buildings, including William McCormack Place I and II.

After MGF’s acquisition by GHD in 2011, Sonia embraced a senior role within GHD’s Far North Services Group. In 2014, Sonia co-founded SEQUAL, a Cairns based multi-disciplinary engineering firm. A registered professional engineer of Queensland, a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and a member of AIRAH, she is a trusted advisor to institutions like JCU, Cairns Hospital, and the Cairns Regional Council.
